The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants was viewed by many to be a Box-Office Bomb despite being based on one of the most popular kids shows of all time and allegedly being responsible for the traditionally-animated Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender being moved from a theatrical release to streaming. While it true that Search For SquarePants had its box office performance, it still managed to make back its $64 million dollar budget by grossing $168 million dollars, outgrossing first movie’s 132 million performance.
